CCS Media

We have been working with CCS for over 2 years and are seen as one of their top suppliers of Sales people. The vacancy was sourced through business development and then being passed the roles by the Senior Sales Manager.

The vacancies Genesis always work on for CCS are due to company growth and for the most recent roles Genesis were working on were getting candidates from the Nottingham area as CCS Media have a plan to open an office there in the next 12 months. By CCS Media opening this office it would increase the company presence in that area and continue the growth throughout the UK.

The main problem here is not finding candidates that can hit the floor running and get up to speed quickly. It is very important to find suitable candidates with the right experience with the products and services and who had been used to working in a New Business/Account Management role. Opening a new office requires a team that can generate a profit quickly. If this issue was not resolved and suitable candidates were not put forward this would be a waste the time for Genesis and CCS Media and not assist with the opening of the new office therefore not demonstrating a good service and jeopardising future business between CCS and Genesis.

The Vacancy

The vacancy was for an Account Manager, with core duties of generating new business and to account manage customers across multiple verticals selling across the portfolio offered by CCS Media. The client was looking for Account Managers from IT Resellers who are currently generating £5k GP+ per month selling IT Hardware, Consumables, Software, solutions and Managed Services. Finding people with the right skill set and experience who can get up to speed quickly and also keeping a constant flow of candidates was key for this.


The Solution

Genesis conducted a telephone call to take a detailed job specification to what type of candidates they wanted and the experience needed, after successfully placing candidates with the business CCS Media had a face to face meeting with Genesis to give a further understanding of the business, get a feel for the culture and to find out more about the incentives and befits of working for CCS Media.

Genesis would utilise all methods available to us such as Headhunting, LinkedIn, Referrals, Job adverts, CV Searching national databases and our extensive database of candidates. Sourcing candidates was a combination of the above for these specific candidates placed most recently it was done through Headhunting, LinkedIn and referrals all from one specific business.

The Selection Process

Our process and selection is to pre-screen all of the candidates to match up their skills and experience and short list, once the experience and skills have been matched we would move forward to a more in-depth screening of the candidate.

The Interview Process

Genesis would conduct a full screening taking around 45 minutes to further understand the candidate’s background, reasons for leaving, experience with products and verticals sold to, once we are happy that the candidate is suitable for the role we will prepare the CV with a profile with notes taken from our screening and then send to the client. Following this there would be a 1st stage telephone call for around 15-20 minutes followed by a face to face interview with the Senior Sales Manager, following on from this if all the criteria is met an formal offer of employment would be made.

Continual work on the vacancies with updates on progress with the role and any challenges being faced were the requirements necessary to meet the KPI's and SLA's.

Deadlines and Challenges

Genesis had no specific deadlines to fill as the roles are an ongoing requirement and it is more about finding the right candidates to help the growth of the business but finding candidates as soon as possible is also important. In this batch of recruitment Genesis has managed to provide 4 candidates from one specific company and has now provided enough candidates to assist with the openings of the new offices. 

This is a very candidate driven market and although we are constantly speaking to and approaching new candidates its often the case that will need to speak to a candidate several times before having any success, and this can be a challenging process.
