Seeking an ambitious Senior QS to join the Commercial team within a Top 10 Cost Consultancy and Project Management company based in South London.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a PQS background to work under the team of Directors providing services to commercial and public sector clients. You would be required to deliver the full range of Quantity Surveying services to an excellent standard to meet the needs of our clients. They are looking for an individual to grow and progress within the business.
This is a full time office based role working on a large brownfield regeneration project within the Retail & Leisure division. Alongside this, the successful candidate may also be assisting with hotel/mixed use/high-end residential projects.
My client has global presence with office in over 40 countries with over 10 of these based in the UK. Market sectors that they work within include Residential, Healthcare, Leisure, Hotels, Regeneration, Retail, Banking, Industrial, Education, Civils/Infrastructure, Transport/Aviation, and Europe & International.
Candidate requirements:
*Degree or similar qualification in relevant subject
*Minimum of 7 years' experience with responsibility or a specialisation
*Proactive approach to work with the desire to succeed and progress within the business
*Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and strong client facing skills
*Negotiating and influence skills
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and diligent manner
*Accredited with RICS is desirable
Key Responsibilities:
*Full cost planning of projects
*To plan and control projects through to completion
*To gain the confidence of the client and become the focal point for communication
*Ensure high quality and consistent service delivery standards on projects
*Effective communication ensuring all information is available for the successful completion of projects, to liaise with other managers to ensure efficient financial control resulting in projects being cost effective
*Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner, meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients forming a strong working relationship in true partnership
*To liaise with other managers to ensure consistency of service delivery and to identify opportunities for developing both the quality and profitability of the service
*To ensure that senior management have quality information on the progress of each project on a regular basis
*To carry out networking activities and develop client relationships and alliances
*Promote the services of the company with a view to winning new work opportunities
Knowledge and Experience:
*A minimum of 7 years' experience with responsibility or a specialisation
*Evidence of experience working in this field and in a professional practice
*Experience of delivering complex projects
*The ability to deliver pre and post contract services
*The ability to ensure that programmes are agreed, targets set and deadlines achieved
*An in depth knowledge of different construction processes
There will be regular travel and occasional overnight stays so a valid, full driving licence will be required.
