2D/ 3D Designer - Exhibitions and Events
JOB ROLE: 2D/ 3D Designer
SALARY: £27K-£33K DOE
LOCATION: Kingston-Upon-Thames
My client, a market leading Large Format and Graphics print company based in the Kingston area, are looking to hire a 2D/ 3D Designer to join their ever-growing team! They are looking for someone who has previous experience with the Large Format print arena, with previous work on Exhibitions and Events being desirable but not essential!
Duties:
*Preparation of presentation documents - Adobe In-Design
*Assist in writing up proposal documents
*Assist in the creation of pitches
*2D concept designs from initial brief - not artwork - using Adobe In-Design & illustrator CS suites
*3D exhibition design from initial brief - ability to think & draw in 3D -
*Scaled production drawings - translation of 3D designs into scaled 2D & 3D orthographic production drawings using Sketchup / Vectorworks for estimating and construction purposes.
*Coloured renders in C4D/ 3DS / or similar for presentation purposes
*Photoshop - montage work, superimposition onto photos of existing structures/locations for presentation purposes
*Interpretation of briefs into 2D / 3D design concepts
*Occasional site surveys and creation of scaled floor plans
*Presentation of concept ideas to teams / end clients in collaboration with account managers / creative team
*Site supervision of projects through to to completion
*Take creative briefs from the Creative Director / Producers and Account Managers and occasionally end clients directly
Skills/Qualifications:
*CAD modelling/ drafting / rendering ability
*Must be able to use Adobe CS suite, CAD packages such as Sketchup / Vectorworks
*Must be able to use Rendering packages such as C4D / 3DS etc
*Hand drawing sketching ability preferred - the ability to express ideas quickly in sketch form to others is a great asset
*Degree or equivalent qualification in either Exhibition / Interior or Spatial design, possibly graphic design but with a strong interest in 3D design
*Ideally 2/3 years' experience in a design practice or working for an exhibition / interior/ event contractor
*Appreciation and understanding of the exhibition / event / graphics industry - IE budgets / materials/ process and best practice
*Knowledge of exhibition systems is desirable but not essential.
