Packaging Development Manager - Various Locations
Project manage strategic & customer led initiatives prioritised by value driver from concept identification through development into launch
Champion the chosen group project management system as a tool to drive best practice in line with a gate system; tracking progress at each key mile stone ensuring that any new product does not enter the market too soon
The role as development manager has responsibility for all group products, driving the need to engage all relevant stakeholders from the business relative to each bespoke project
Work with the NPD project manager to support with customer requests and drive fresh thinking into the category as part of the trend and insight offer
Understand customer key capability and generate strong working relationships that could drive step change off the back of a collaborative relationship
Support the Retail Development Director to align future innovation projects by predicting trends and what the future could look like for each category
Accountabilities - what you need to be able to do:
Key Responsibilities
? Work as part of the Innovation team with a strong link into local NPD and Strategic development
? Work with the technical team as an integral stake holder in the development process support the validation process for new materials
? Identify the value of any development project against a consistent scoring criteria
? Communicate clear updates relative to any R&D; project that could drive step change in the retail market place by critical path measurement agreed in the early stages of the gate process
? Recognise technical advancement that could be marketed as a USP in the competitive retail arena
? Formulate a business case form that encourages stakeholders to evaluate opportunity against consistent criteria including commercial feasibility, and growth potential
? Assign each brief with a short, medium, or long term development plan
? Consider the requirement for holding packaging specifications on file for each development
? Manage any development project under NDA until IP potential has been considered
